money & comfort

I grew up thinking that you need to earn $20k a month to live comfortably, not luxuriously.
I thought this was precisely it. Others may not think this way, may not work towards it, but i will.

I just had a fantastic Tan family reunion last weekend.
Once again I met my auntie and uncle from aussie, I visited the places they were born, the first factory of my great grandfather, Tan Boon Bak.

As we were chit chatting, my auntie said something that really shocked me,
"Grandfather said, you don't need a lot of money to live a comfortable life."
My goodness, it struck me like revelation. This is the last thing I am expecting to hear from the very successful man.

Well, I think one of the happiest people I've ever met is my auntie and uncle from aussie. They gave up their extremely luxurious lifestyle in Ipoh and emigrate to Australia. They live off my uncle's salary and they seem like the most fulfilled and blessed couple in the world.

Too practical. Am I too practical a person?

Well.

Im at a stage of wondering still on whether How Much Should I Earn to be Enough...to live comfortably but then again who doesn't want a Luxurious Lifestyle...?

Thx for sharing. Certainly its something for all of us to give a thought to it.
