it's true that at the end of it all, it's plain vanity. that which you have, will be given to the next generation who has not worked for it. sometimes, it's the process that counts isn't it?
at the end of the book of eccl, it says:
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:for this matter, i quickly flipped to the 10 commandments. and that which struck me most this time...
Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all.
8 “ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and doour neverending pursuit has to be coupled with r.e.s.t.
all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it
you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male
servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is
within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth,
the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD
blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
at the same time, i had God of my Forever playing on my ipod.
In the end, just to hear You say "Well Done!"
really, isn't this the most desired end point? not the bungalow, not the convertible, not the private jet, not popularity and power. but "well done, my good and faithful servant!"
it's weird, but it takes 'revelation' to learn to rest.
